Honoring Florence Nightingale With 2020 “Year of the Nurse” - The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated 2020 as the “Year of the Nurse and Midwife”, in honor of the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. Born into a wealthy British family in Florence, Italy, in 1820, she was the self-taught “pioneer of modern nursing” who proved that London hospital patients died at a rate of 90% while those who were sick and did not go to a hospital died at a 60% rate. In 1860, she established the world’s first professional nursing school at St. Thomas Hospital in London. “The Nightingale Pledge” –– taken by new nurses, and the Florence Nightingale Medal, which was the highest international distinction that a nurse can receive, were names in her honor. Because of the groundbreaking work of Ms. Nightingale, we thank our incredible nursing team who follow boldly in her trailblazing footsteps. Happy Year of the Nurse from HealthFlex! More

Look who is featured in The San Francisco Business Times… HealthFlex! - Oakland-based company aims to keep patient care for the elderly at home in the Bay Area. Every company wants to be featured in the news. But not every company is fortunate enough to have that opportunity. HealthFlex did –– and we are truly honored to be acknowledged by our community with a front cover article on August 1, 2019 in the San Francisco Business Times. Wyatt Kroopf, a writer at the Times, just published a story about our fast-growing company that’s now working with such healthcare giants as Dignity Health, Kaiser Permanente, and doctor network Brown and Toland. Since 2012, we have invested in quality –– for both patient care and our employees’ well-being –– offering robust benefits and creating a strong, nurturing workplace. Those steps helped pave the way for HealthFlex’s growth to over 240 employees with a low turnover rate. “We want to develop our private duty sector so that we can be a one-stop hub,” said Alex Koshevatsky. “We want to be able to provide all the services that a patient needs in a home setting.” Download PDF.
